The Premiers' Conference is referring the uniform gauge problem to a board of inquiry, consisting of two experts from outside Australia with an Australian chairman. The inquiry will embrace the best gauge for Australia, the cost between capitals, and also the cost throughout the Commonwealth. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE COAL DISPUTE. Sydney, July 20.
