COAL STRIKE THREAT.
• BRITISH MINERS' DEMANDS. Bj Telegriph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 17, 12.20 a.m. London, July IS. The Miners' Federation presented the Leamington conference's demands to the Coal Controller, who indicated that tiio demands would be referred to Cabinet. The miners are dissatisfied with the re-ply.—Aus.-N.2. Cable Assn. [The principal demand of the miners is a substantial increase in pay, and failing it being granted a national strike is threatened. It is believed the British Government will not accede to the request, on the ground that the continual increase of prices is contributed to by the endless demand for more pay.]
