SWIMMING.
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of the Council of the. New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, It was decided that H. S. Williams, the Association's representative in England, should represent the Council at the International conference at Antwerp. It was reported that proficiency certificates had been issued as follows: Wellington 473, Wanganui 354, Hawke's Bay ■ 345, Manawatu 256, AucWand 'l6, Souih Auckland 118, Otago 106, Canterbury 80, South Canterbury 77, Westhuid 44, It was pointed out that the Manawjtu Centred performance in securing fourth place l in the ijjrit year of its existence was a remarkable one. It was decided that after the present season Jo issue no medals to those placed second in schools' provincial champlonhips.
