Father jerger's case. By T«lesraph —Ptms Assn.— Copyright. Received July 14, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, July 14. The injunction, to restrain Father Jerger from being deported has been refused. Application has also been made for a writ of Habeas Corpus. The Judge made an order nisi to the officers in charge of Father Jerger to show cause why Habeas Corpus could not be issued. i ■ « MELBOURNE GAS STRIKE. Melbourne, July 14. The gas workers have notified the Premier that they will be willing to resume on the basis offer made, with certain modifications. The situation is hopeful. RATES FOR SHEARERS. . , Sydney, July 14. A conference between the graziers and Australian Workers' Union respecting the rates for shearers adjourned without reaching a decision. The Union secretary said he was not hopeful of a settlement. The graziers meet again on Thursday. BROKEN HILL MINES. Sydney, July 14. A Broken Hill compulsory conference discussed the medical repoit. A suggestion made that a special committee be appointed wi(h an independent chairman resulted in a deadlock over the latter. A further meeting will be held on Wednesday. j
