MORE COAL LOST.
HUNTLY MINE IDLE. By TelegrttPh.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Work was not resumed in the Taupiri Company's Extended mine at Huntly today, although the fall which had caused trouble in No. 4 section had been cleared away. The reason of the men in absenting themselves is not known to the company's officials. The suspension of operations in the mine is ver K - seriously accentuating the coal shortage. The Extended mine has been idle for eleven days, practically no work having been done since June 29. As th"o normal output is 000 tons daily, this means that the community has been already deprived of 0,600 tons owing to the stoppage. The executive of the union ha 9 been in Auckland for a week in connection with tli" drawing up of a new ment. This was completed to-day, subject to ratification by the union. It is thought the men may be awaiting the return of the executive before starting work, and that they may resume 'tomorrow.
