CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS.
THEtR RELEASE OPPOSED. - By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. The remarks made by General Sir Andrew Russell at the end of last week, in regard to conscientious objectors, were referred to at the quarterly meeting of the Christehurch Returned Soldiers' Association to-night. The following resolution was carried: "This meeting of returned soldiers views with alarm the advocacy of a prominent General urging the release of all conscientious objectors, and dp&ires to inform the public of its dissociation from any such sympathy where the so-called conscientious objectors are really military defaulters, and, furthermore, that it strongly urges that all military defaulters be kM imprisoned until the completion of their full term of Imprisonment.
