Mr. Greene, Customs Minister, is ascertaining the- cost of production In Japan. Mr. Greene declined to increase butter from 2s Id tjt 3s, explaining that he was shortly withdrawing butter from price fixing, —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ADDINGTON MARKET. < Chrlstchurch, July 7. There was a small yarding, both of fat and store stock to-day, and values showed a sharp advance. Store Sheep.—There was the smallest yarding of the season, prices advancing about 3s per head. Wether hoggets, 21s to 23s lOd; mixed sex hoggets, 22s 7d to 26s lOd; ewe hoggets, 26s Id; two, four, six, and eighttooth ewes, In iamb, 29s 6d to 30s 3d; six and eight-tooth ewes, In lamb, 32s 3d; sound and falling-moutli ewes, in lamb, 17s 6d to 235; two-tooth wethers, 25s 7d to 32s 9d. Fat Bheep—Tliere was a small entry. All classes showed a sharp rise of about 3s a head. Extui prime wethers, 48s 9d to 59s 6d; prime wethers, 41s to 48s; medium wethers 30s 6d to 40s 6d; ordinary wethers, 32s to 30s; extra prime ewes, 48s to 50s 3d; prime ewes, 39s to 47s 6d; medium ewes, 33s fid to 38s 6d; lighter ewes, 24s Od to 32s 6d. Fat Cattle.—There was a moderate entry, which (met wltlft a very keen demand, values at the recent strong sales being exceeded. Extra prime steers, to £37 10s; prime steers, £2l 10s to £26 10s; medium steers, £lO to £2O 10s; light and unfinished steers, £8 12s 6d to £ls; extra prime heifers, to £TS; prime heifers, £l4 10s to £l7; light and unfinished heifers, £9 to £l3 15s; prime' cows, £l4 10s to £l9; ordinary cows, £8 15s to £l3 15s. Vealers —Values were a shade higher than the preceding week. Runners, to £9 ss; good vealers, £i to 65 10s; calves, 10s to 30s. Store Cattle.—All classes showed Improved demand. Three-year steers, to £l3; cows, £9 10s; bulls, £l3 15s. Dairy Cattle. Anything with milking points sold readily. Fourth calvers to £24 10s; second and third calvers, £2O. Fat Pigs —There was a small entry and firm demand. Choppers, to £9 10s; light and baconers, £O, and heavy £8 12s 6d. BURNSIDE. Dunedin. July 7. There were moderate yardings of fat stock offered for sale at Burnslde to-day. All classes of stock realised high prices. Lambs were very dear. The price realised : per lb for lambs in the bare carcass was about lid. Fat cattle: Prime bullocks sold from £22 to £26 ,17s 6d; medium, £lB 103 to £2l; light and unfinished kinds, from £ls upwards. Prime heifers, from £l7 to £2O 13s; medium, £l4 10s to £10.10s; light and aged from £lO upwards. Store cattle: Extra prime heavy-welpht wethers realised from 6."s to 71s; prime, 50s to 60s 9d; medium, 42s to 47s 6d; light and unfinished kinds from 355" upwards; extra > prime heavy-weight ewes made from sfls to 725: prime. 48s to 55s 9d; medium, 38s to 46s fld: light nnd aged, 80s upwards. f Lpimbs: Freezing buyers were operating for all lines suitable for export. Trlees showed an advance on late rates Prime, 34s to 38s; medium. 30s to 365; light and unfinished, 23s Od to 295, A fairly large yarding of fat pigs was penned. Best tiaroner? realised from 10% dto lid per Hi, and best pnrkers from 11',id to Is oV_.d per lb. Store pigs sold at prices on a par with last week's sale. ,
