ENFORCING THE TREATY. GERMAN REPLY TO DEMANDS. [ By Telegraphs-Press Assn.—Copyright. j Received July 9, 1.25 a.m. London, July 7A Spa communique reports that at a fully attended conference, including the Allies' military and naval advisers, the German Minister of Defence reported in regard to the execution of the military clauses of the Treaty, and Herr von Simons made c supplementary statement. It transpired from this that the German Government attempted to attribute the delays in this matter to the economic situation, especially as regards reducing military effectives, alleging that it was impossible to disband more rapid'ly, because the men would thus swell the ranks of the unemployed. EASIER TERMS WANTED. GERMAN THREAT TO RETIRE. Spa, July 6. Herr Gerler, German Minister for Defence, interviewed, said that he intends to retire from the Conference unless more favorable terms are granted. He would not insist on Germany retaining an army of 200,000, but a strong force was necessary and reliction must be permited slowly.—Aus.-N.Z." Cable Assn.
