Tarnnaki football enthusiasts are promised a great atfernoon's football to-morrow at Hawera, when New Plymouth JJigh School and Wanganui College will try conclusions for the first time in the Rugby history of the respective schools. Both teams are in perfect physical condition, and confident of being able to maintain the pace from, start to finish. Bright spectacular football is a sine qua non of college games, and as the teams will liave tho additional incentive to excel in the presence of Ceneral Blrdsood, patrons may anticipate with confidence getting more than* their money's worth. It Is understood that a large number of Collegian "barrackers" will invade Hawera. from Wanganui, while no less than. 300 New Plymouth High School boys have been "booked" by Saturday morning's special train to yell the School slogan. The school teams will dine together at the Central Hotel at 11.30 a.m . and the match will commence at. 1 o'clock sharp. On the completion of the College match, the Tarnnaki and Wanganui representatives will take the field at 2.30. The previous meeting between these teams provided a most Melting game, trlctory going to Taranaki in the closing minutes of the game. • A few alleratlons have been made in the Taranaki team, mainly however In tho inclusion of Johnston (Okaiawa) asr hooker. R. Oliver replaces Cameron as first five-eighths, the latter being stood down to allow of another combination being tried. The Wanganui and Taranaki teams will dine together at the Egmonl Hotel at 12 o'clock. Mr. H. Card will referee the match. A special train is advertised. Taranaki will be represented by the following :

In addition to the match which has been arranged between Taranakl and South Auckland to be played at Hamilton on Thursday nexi whilst the teann is trnvelliiiß to Auckland, Bay of Plenty have wired asking for a match at Rotorua. The only date available is rues day, July 20, as the team naive to be back In New Plymouth on Thursday, July 11, to meet Hawke's Bay. .Mr. McLeod, chairman of the Rugby Union, has accordingly wired Jlr. Parata that if it is possible for the team to Ret back in time to catch the main trunk eipress at: Frankton on Tuesday evening, the match will bo played. The team for the tour will he chosen from players already selected for the Wanganul match, and any player unable to make the trip is asked to notify the secretary of the Union at Stratford by to-morrow.
