Eden, was knocked down by a motor car when crossingf the Mount Eden road last night. He was taken to hospital, where he died of shock. . FATALITY AT WELLINGTON. Wellington, July 5. A distressing fatality occurred late on Saturday pight, involving the death of a middle-aged woman, Miss Blanche Saunders, who was crossing Lambton Quay ( when she was run down by a motor car driven by T. C. A. Hislop. The deceased lady apparently i. d not see the car until it was close to her. Then she hesitated and made as if to step in front o? it. She again hesitated and stepped back. Hislop swerved his car to one side and then to the other, endeavoring , without avail to avoid a collision. Miss Saunders was taken to a hospital, where life was pronounced to be extinct. I
