THE GARDEN OF NEW ZEALAND.

1 (To the Editor ) Sir,—Could not this Garden, as we call It, which I should think comprises the Park and adjoining the Racecourse, which is used a few times in the year, be put to a better use than trying to remember the Lord's birthdays by racing and betting? Are we content to let the devil In and rule,, or it Christianity going to triumph? Let us look through a better glnss than a telescope, which certainly makes vtslble many of the wonders of the heavan*. The Book of Books tells us of these wonderful signs. Think of the dark days, the nights almost like day with brightness; the clouds which show the Lord's glory In his covenants with Israel, and many other signs. The uneasiness or unrest of Labor: the drinking and love of strong drink. Arc we nearer our God to-day? Are we growing In grace through the washing of water by the world? Let us be Images of Him who died for us, and be watchers of our nation. In looking at Hie map, surely you can see with myself the nations to he fed with our cattle from the slaughter, and our butter and cheese for the hungry. Let us pull together, Labor and Capital alike, with one mind and one spirit. As we have had seasons of breaking down, shall we not also have a time to build up both spiritually and materially? He has made promises and surely they are coming to pass, as one writer puts it In your paper: "It is between the lion and the lamb." Well, so it is as regard our produce. The iamb would like to kcaop the lion fed. for I think she could do with all we can supply Her and mfce.—-I afti, etc., THREE LAMBS. Kalmata, July 3, 1920.
