THE COUNTY CAR TAX!

Sir,—The following clipping from the London Weekly Despatch. April 4, 1920, should be of Interest to motorlals who object to the T.C.C. tax proposal MOTOR' TAX PROPOSALS. The Times says that It hns reason to believe that the recommendations of the Minority Report drafted by the dissentient members of the Special Committee appointed by the Ministry of Transport to frame the new motor tax proposals are to the effect that, If the present tax of 6d per gallon of fuel Is abolished, the motor tax should be on the scale of 15s per h.p. The majority report, It will be remembered, recommended £1 per hp. The proposals of the local body are but a flea-bite to the above 1 And it seems there Is already a tax of 6d per gallon on benzine. We're out of it somewhere am. etc. 3, B. SIMPSON.
