GENERAL BIRDWOOD.
ARRIVAL AT ROTORUA. '■ By Telegraph—Press Association. Rotorua, Last Night. General Sir William Birdwood, accompanied by Lady Birdwood and their daughter, arrived this afternoon from Napier, via Wairakei, by motor car. A large number of soldiers and residents met the car on the road. Mr. McPhcison, president of the U.S.A., welcomed the visitors, and Sister Hodges, acting matron of the George Hospital, presented a bouquet 'to Lady Birdwood. Soldiers dragged the car to the Grand Hotel, where Mr. W. Hill, resident officer, welcomed the visitors on behalf of the citizens. Mrs. Hill presented Lady Birdwood with a bouquet. General Birdwood was enthusiastically received, itnd returned thanks. He leaves on Tuesday for Auckland
