.DEATH OF A YOUNG GIRL. By Telejrraph—Pre«* AswoelfltJoTi. Dunedin, Last Night. Tlie circumstances concerning the death of Olive May Pile, aged 20, who was found dead in a house in South Dunedin, occupied by Helen Glegg, were inquired into at the Police Court today, when the woman Glegg was charged with the murder of tlie girl in question. Xhe evidence included that of Thomas Burdett, a surfaceman employed by the Railway Department, residing at Oamaru, who said he met the deceased seven or eight months ago. He went out with hw several times. About four or five weeks ago the deceased and her father saw witness, and a few days after witness came to Dunedin, met the deceased next day, and proceeded to he accused's house. The accused asked what they' were going t° do. told the accused he did not care about the cost—he was prepared to pay. She replied that it would cost £2O, and witness paid her. Witness took Ms departure, leaving the girl in the house. He returned to 'Oamaru. On the following Monday he received a telegram from Dunedin saying: "All well, M. Pile." He also received a letter from May Pile. He destroyed the telegram and the letter. He went to Dunedin and visited the accused's house, where he found the girl had been dead about an hour. Tlie" accused told witness to get away as quickly as possible, and not to say anthing about it. The accused was charged with procuring a miscarriage of a young woman, and also with murdering another young woman, Olive May Pile. Counsel for the accused intimated that he would reserve the defence. | The accused was therefore committed *br jrial on both chargM,
