VICTORIA LEAGUE.

At the general meeting of the Victoria League, held on Monday evening, there were twenty members present. Mrs. Burgess presided. The object was to arrange some sort of social evenings for members of the League. It was decided, to hold fortnightly meetings in the "president's room at 7.30 p.m., the first meeting to be held on Monday, July 12. A committee, consisting of Mesdames Brown and Martin and Miss Barr, was elected to draw up a syllabus. The meeting considered the advisability of having a visiting committee to undertake visits to hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Miss Godfrey and Mrs. Denny-Brown were elected a visiting committee. The meeting decided to ask Mrs. Firth to act as secretary for the junior branch of the League.
