The Constantinople correspondent of the Evening News reports that, under cover of British warships, a Greek force disembarked at Panderaia to participate in the final operations in the Dardanelles area. Many weary and ragged Turks of all ages are surrendering in Smyrna, They include a large proportion of officers. Nationalists in Thrace told Greeks that they intend to fight to the utmost. The Echo de Paris says that the latest Turkish Note amounts to a refusal to sign the Treatv. The Note demands that Turkey be granted a consultative voice in the control of the Dardanelles, and the revision of the financial clauses of the Treaty by a commission of experts. M. Venteelos (Premier of Greece), in an interview, replying to critics, said that the war was forced upon Greeee against her will. The plan of operations will be conducted by Marshal Foeh and Sir H. Wilson. Greece has no intention of occupying or retaining Anatolia. The war is directed against Turkey, not against Islam. According to the Petit Journal, the Greeks' initial success, coupled with the Nationalist defeat at Isrnid, has decided Mustapha Kemal to abandon the attack on Constantinople.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
