NEW ZEALAND "REPS." FOR AUSTRALIAN TOUR. . A GREAT COMBINATION. New Zealand will be represented by the following players in the forthcoming Rugby football tour of Australia : Full-back: J. O. O'Brien (Auckland). Three-quarters: P. W. Storey (South Canterbury), B. Algnr (Wellington), .1 Steele (West Coast), and V. W. Wilson (Auckland). Five-eighths: C. E. Badeley (Auckland), J. Tilyard (Wellington), and E. Roberts (Wellington). Half: C. Brojvn (Tnranakl), « Wing Forward: J. Donald (Walrarapa) Forwards: Hookers, M. Cain (Taranakl), A. Carroll (Manawatu), W. Duncan (Otago), and E. W. Hasell (Canterbury); lock, .T. K. Moflltt (Wellington) ; supports and back, A. H. West (Taranakl), H, Jacob (Horowhenua), F McLean (Buller), D. T. Balrd (Southland), E. A. Bollls (Wanganui), and C. Fletcher (Auckland). Mr. T. IT .Tones has been appointed manager of tho team, and Mr. .1. T. Tilyard captain. These two, together with one other, to be chosen by the players, will form a selection committee for the tour. The team Is scheduled to assemble at Wellington on .Tuly 8 to commence a North Island tour, comprising two matches. The first of these, versus Auckland, is set down to be played at the northern town "on July 10th, and the second—versus, the combined districts of Wanganui Horowhenua, and Manawatu—at Palmerston North on July 14th. According to present arrangements, the representatives will return to Wellington the same evening, and leave for Sydney on the following day. Tho team comprises twenty-one players, fifteen of whom are from the North Island, and the other six from the South Island. Fourteen of the North Islnjid team that played on Saturday are included, Barker being the only member to be omitted, whilst E Roberts (Wellington) who stood down, has been included. Tavanakl's three representatives,* M. Cain, C. Brown, and A. 11. West are Included. REFEREES FOR THIS WEEK. Roberts, the Wellington and New Zealand representative footballer, who with his wife, has been' spending a few days in Hawera, left for Wellington by the mall train yesterday morning. < SOUTH TARANAKI RESULTS. SENIOR COMPETITION. Hawera seniors defeated Opunake by 21 points to nil. 'Tries were scored by Chadwick (2). Cameron, Robertson, and Patterson. Cameron converted one try, and Robertson polted a goal. Okalawti defeated Walmate by three polnls to nil. During the game. Atkin, the Walmate half, sustained a broken collarbone. JUNIOR COMPETITION. Opunako juniors defeated Hawera by 3 points to nil. Okalawa beat Walmate by 14 to 5. THIRD GRADE. Hawera thirds defeated Okaiawa bv 9 points to all. v , SECONDARY SCHOOLS. N.P. HIGH SCHOOL v. WANGANITI COLLEGE Football enthusiasts will he pleased to leant that the Wanganui College and New Plvmoulh High School fifteens will meet at Hawera during Show week, the match having been arranged as a curtain raiser to the WanganulTiranakl representative fixture on Saturday, July 10th.
