RUN OVER BY TRAIN.
TRIED TO BOARD IT IN MOTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. With a tin of kerosene in a sack slung over his shoulder, Frederick Thompson, a wharf laborer residing at Petone, attempted tliis evening to board a train at, Lamb ton Station after the train had gathered fair speed. The gate of the carriage platform was closed, and Thompson lost his balance and fell between the last two carriages. The wheels of the last carriage passed over both his legs and one arm. Thompson was removed to the hospital. His condition is very serious. Later. Frederick Thompson died in hospital late to-night.
