The Labor Conference at Scarborough adopted a resolution in favor of Labor members relinquishing official positions, in unions on their election to Parliament. ' Another resolution demanded the application of the principle of self-deter-mination to India. The conference depjored the Amritsar incident, and demanded the Viceroy's recall. After an amendment to give IrelandHome Rule within the Empire had been defeated, a resolution favoring the Irish people having an absolute right to decide their own form ofgGovernment was carried by a large majority.—Aus.-N.Z.
