WHAT IS A RISK?
AN INTERESTING DECISION. By telegraph.— Press Association. Christchurch, June 23. In the Arbitration Court, Olive Ayford sued the Company, Kaikoura, for £SOO as damages for'the loss of her husband, whoftwas killed in an accident while in *ttt company's employ. The deceased man was manager of the company and usually went between the factory and the office on a bicycle. On the day of the accident he accepted an offer of a lift in a motorcar. A tyre burst and in the accident which resulted he was killed. The question was raised whether, in | accepting a lift in the motor-car, he had increased the risk of accident in his employment. The Court held that he had taken a recognised means of locomotion and had acted reasonably. Judgment was given for the amount claimed.
