(Str*ttord Representative: w. J Wilson, Broadway North. Telephone 335.] 1 ' June 21. There was a large congregation at the Stratford Methodist Church y&sterday, when a civic parade was held. Amongst those present were His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. W. McMillan), members of the Borough Council, and representatives of a number of lodges and other local institutions. Kev. L. B. Neale's subject: "The Heritage of the was of wide interest. The speaker sought to show that history had revealed God in human movements; the past had given a heritage to safeguard and called for new efforts in the future. A permanent branch of the Public Trust Office will be opened in Stratford from July 1, offices having been secHred in Mr. J. McAllister's building opposite the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Company's offices in Broadway. Mr. J. C. Robins, who for the past three years has teen associated with the Hawera ■ Trust, has been appointed district manager and will take up his residence in Stratford. Mr. Robins is already well and favorably known to very many residents of this district, so that he does not come by any means as a stranger. ° At the Holy Trinity Clftireli yesterday in the presence of a crowded congregation, Major J. B. Hine unveiled the Peace Memorial Window at the east end of the Church. Short reference appropriate to the occasion was made by Mr. Hine. The attendance included practically a full muster of the local troop of Boy Scouts. Mr. A. J. Morton, senior Inspector of Schools for the Taranaki Education Board examined the pupils of the second classes of the Stratford District High School to-day. The usual meeting of the Young People's Improvement Association 'was held in the Parish Hall to-night. Brief discussions took place on the Melanesiari l Islands and the hobby of stamp collecting and a number of musical items were contributed during the evening. Mr. R.
