WAITARA.
BOWLING CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) June 18. The annual meeting of the Waitara Bowling Club was held on Monday last. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £-34 7s Bd, which is deemed very satisfactory, and it was recommenaed to wipe off five debentures and make a donation of £2 to the Ladies' Croquet Club, which uses part of the grounds. The winners of the pairs competition were Messrs. Chittenden and Rattenbury (Thursday), and Messrs. Fuller and Hawking (Saturday). Owing to the illness of Mr. S. Wylie the single championship remained unfinished, but it is intended to have the play-off at the start of the new season. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Dr. M. Campbell; vicepresident, S. G. Fraser; secretary and treasurer, A. H. Hawkins; committee, Messrs. Telfar. Bint, Young, Calder, Blair, Taylor, Ford; auditor, Messrs. G. Huse and C. H. Sampson; wardens, Messrs. Blair and C. H. Sampson; Saturday selector, L. H. Sampson. The appointment of a match committee and Thursday selector was held over. It was resolved that a honors board be placed in the pavilion with each president's name on. Votes of thanks to Messrs. Hogg and Croll for handing over their debentures to the club, and the meeting adjourned. The s.s. Wetere arrived on Thursday from Nuknakarae with 83 bales of wool for Newton Xiut
