Major V. Dunne, of the military forces, was in New Plymouth yesterday, and goes to Ilawera this morning. ]\h-. ,T. O'Driseolt, who left New Plymouth ten years ago for Queensland, is on a visit to New Plymouth. A London cablegram states that it is expected that Mr. Watt will return to Australia as soon as shipping accommodation is obtainable. A public presentation of the Hector medal to Mr. S. Percy Smith, F.R.G.S., of New Plymouth, for research in Polynesian Kthnology, will be made by the Mayor in the Hempton Room, Carnegie Library, this afternoon at 3 o'clock.
