THREAT TO INDIA.

l MENACE OF BOLSHEVISM. DANGER NOT PASSED. By Telegraph,<-Preis Atan.—CojjytisOt. London, June 15. The India Office declares that the Bolsheviks are doing their utmost to stir up trouble in India. Their agents are acttive throughout the East. The general feeling of unsettlement affords a congenial atmosphere for propaganda. It is well known that there exists in Moscow a special department for the direction of Bolshevik activities in the East. Whenever possible, native populations are incited against Western Governments. Britain is held up as the particular enenvy. The Indian Government is fully aware of these efforts, and is actively engaged in counter measures. It cannot be said there is no menace to India; the fact is, however, it is by no means as great as it was. The Indian Government is 'sa-tisfleci that if Bolshevism in India ha 3 not been killed it has been scotched. The position callß, not for alarmist measures, but for the continuance of firm, wise and sympathetic rule.—Reuter Service. DISLOYALTY TO THE THRONE. PRINCE'S VISIT IMPERILLED. THREAT OF EXTREMISTS. Received June 18, 12.20 a.m. Delhi, June 18. An attempt is being made in India to prevent the Prince of Wales visiting this country at the end of the present year. -"Extremist politicians, who regard thj Hunter Commission findings with disfavor, and strongly urge a modification of the Turkish terms, threaten that unless their demands are granted they will make the visit of the Prince a fiasco.

The India Home Rule League has cabled the Secretary of State for India that a welcome to the Prince is doubtful unless the present situation is relieved.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
