Masters, M.P. for Stratford, and Mrs. Masters, returned from a short holiday in the South Island on Saturday night, after spending a very enjoyable time in Wellington, Christcliurcli and J West Coast districtsE. Cutfield, h. Walker and 1. B. Norris have been appointed to fill vacancies on the Tututawa. Domain Board. A "reminder is given of the complimentary social to-morrow (Tuesday) evening to Mr. R. Masters, M.P., and. Mrs. Masters, at the Toko Coronation Hall. The executive of the Stratford A. and P. Association met on Saturday, the President (Mr. G. Sangster) occupying the chair. It was decided that matters relating to the dog section be referred to the general committee at the next meeting on the 26th inst. In connection with the improvement scheme on the showgrounds, the committee resolved that a plan of the buildings be drawn up, with the idea that, after sanction by the general committee, as much work as possible Will be carried out this year, the scheme to be completed afterwards as opportunity offers. The committee carried, a resolution of thanks to the Stratford Gun Club for a donation of three guineas. The plans of the Startford post office arrived in Stratford last week addressed to Mr. R. Masters, M.P., but owing to Mr. 'Masters not arriving until Saturday night, they could not be seen until today. The plans provide for a handsome two-storey concrete building, with up-to-date facilities for the despatch of business. No provision has been made for the erection of a clock tower in the building, as the Postal Department has now decided not to build towers in any new post offices. The plans have been handed over to the Borough Council and the Stratford Chamber of Commerce for_inspcction.
