TRADE EXHIBITS.
AT THE WINTER SHOW. THE RED POST FURNISHERS, PURSERS, LTD. One of the finest trade displays at this year's show is that of the Red Post Home Furnishers. This business was. recently taken over by Pursers, Ltd., of Wanganui, .whose reputation as home furnishers is unequalled in the Dominion. The space allotted to them has bean admirably arranged into two rooms, and we must congratulate their decorators in the taste displayed. One room is furnished as a bedroom in Queensland Maple, comprising wardrobe, duchess, washstand, bedstead, towel drier, costumiere, and two chairs. This splendid suite resembles mahogany, and is treated in a rich wine shade of red, and' the thought that comes to one when viewing it is that the firm's craftsmen have excelled themselves in creating what must be acknowledged one of the finest suites ever seen in New Plymouth. • The-- other room is laid out as a din-ing-room, and here again is seen thai thoroughness that impresses the observer- The timber used in this suite is oak, which is treated in a fuming chamber in order to gain the necessary color. This is commonly called fumed oak. The design is simple, yet impresses one with its solidarity and usefulness. Sound construction is - the firm's keynote, and every little detail ;s finished with thoroughness. Probably the most arresting features in this display are the carpets, and one cannot readily describe their beauty. They are the product of the world famous firriT"of James Templeton and Son, of Glasgow, imported direct by Pursers, Ltd., and they are masterpieces of the British designer's art. That in tlie bedroom has a pale fawn with a' black foliage design, but the palm must be given to the super Wilton carpet in the dining-room. This has a magnificent grey ground with black design and a medallion centre of grey, and pale pink. The same colorings are used in the border, which gives a beautiful effect.
We feel sure that those who have been privileged to- visit the show will acknowledge the Red Post furnishers have well sustained their reputation. Visitors to their show rooms are confident of securing really good furniture. THE PRINCE'S SUITE. During the visit of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales to Wanganui the Imperial Hotel was hia official residence, and the whole suite of eight rooms occupied were furnished out by Pursers, Ltd. The dining-room suite was in Queensland maple, similar to the bedroom suite ui the show. Pursers, Ltd-, retained this suite, and it is now on its way to ba shown in the firm's windows in Devon Street (tlje Red Post) and we have no doubt that Taranaki residents will avail themselves of visiting Pursers, Ltd., in order to see this handsome suite of furniture.
