• UREN AND VOLAIRE. At Wellington, on Thursday evening, the 15-rounti contest between Eugene Volaire, a French pugilist, and Havilch Uren, or Australia, ended in a draw. Tim Traccy was referee, and the Dominion states that the decision was received with quite enthusiastic disapproval of the crowd. Urea did most of the -leading, but Volaire was the more forceful boxer, and had the greatest reserve of strength. BASHAM DEFEATED BY LEWIS. London, June 9. Kid Lewis defeated Basham, at Oljimpia, for the welter championship ot Europe and a purse of £SOOO, The referee stopped the fight in the ninth round owing to Basham's weakness from loss of blood.
