AUCKLAND'S LARGE FIGURES. £1,596,451 IN BETTING. By Telejraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The totalisator investments in Auckland during the racing season just concluded prove highly satisfactory reading from the Racing 'Club's and the Government's point of view. The total amount put through ••'the machines at all local race meetings was £1,898,481, and the Government collected in taxes just over £93,000. The total for the Auckland Racing Club's meetings was £1,052,146, made up as follows: Spring meeting, £122,642; summer meeting. £135,78f; autumn meeting £195,855; Royal meeting £77,470; winter meeting, £220,391.
