PATEA LICENSING COMMITTEE
THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Patea Licensing Committee was held at Hawera yesterday, Mr. T. A. B. Bailey, P.M., presiding.. The. following applications for renewals were adjourned:—Royal Hotel, Hawera, for three month:-, for an assurance that the corrugated iron portion of the building would he rebuilt; Kn-ka-ramea Hotel, for a fortnight; Dominion Hotel, Hawera, till next quarterly meeting, on a question of repairs; Clarendon Hotel, Waverley, for three months; Waitotara Hotel] for three months. Transfers were granted in respect to the following hotels: Central Hotel, Hawera, from Mary Cramp to Henry Edward Card; Empire Hotel, Hawera,' from Peter T. Pedersen to Jas. Michael Anderson. Chas. Stephen O'Leary was granted a permit to carry on the Railway Hotel, Waitotara, till the recovery from illness of the licensee. A temporary transfer of the Alton Hotel to A. R. Moore was granted. Applications for renewals of licenses were granted as follows: Commercial Hotel, Hawera (Jane Hook); Egmont Hotel, Hawera (Terence Chas. Gormley); Empire Hotel, Hawera (James Michael Anderson); Central Hotel, Hawera (Henry Edward Card); Railway Hotel, Hawera (John, Harrington); Kai Iwi Hotel (Philip Feilding); Masonic Hotel, Patea (William Chas, Hancock); Central Hotel, Patea (Alfred Davies); Albion Hotel, Patea (John Abraham Coogan); Railway Hotel, Waitotara (T. E. Mills); Maiyutahi Hotel (Annie Elizabeth Harvey); Commercial Hotel, | Waverley (E. Hart). Renewals of wholesale wine and spirit licenses were granted to Levin & Co. and Johnston & Co. (Hawera) and Gibsons Ltd. (Patea ), and an application for a renewal of a license to sell wine Was granted to Herbert A. Haycock (Hawera).—Star.
