Mr. Wynne replied, firing five revolver shots, killing one Sinn Feiner and wounding two others. The rest fled. Mr. Wynne was not wounded.

A gang of armed men fired with revolvers at three police leaving the Lower Road police station in Cork, killing two police and dangerously wounding a third.
