PURCHASE OF TAB.
(To the Editor). Sir,—A paragraph recently appeared in your journal regarding a local company buying tar from tho Wanganul Borough Council at 5%d and selling back tho distilled product at Kl'/fcd. This bare statement la very misleading ■intl suggests, amongst other things, profiteering. This Council, as a matter of fact, buys a proprietary article known as ltestar, containing expenslrc Ingredients not present In distilled tars, and distilled tars are considerably lower In price. The Kestar Company has a record few <mnnufncturing concerns can boast of, namely, tiiat during the last seven years there has been only one 10 per cent, rise In the price of their prepared tars. Business men will know what this means, with present day freight, handling and manufacturing charges, and will agree that the inference derived from tho paragraph is entirely wrong.—l am, etc., .1. P. HOLLOWAT, i General Manager Kestar Co.
