SOLDIER AND M.P.
A CHALLENGE ON LOYALTY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 10. Mr. J. L. Fos. 1 , a prominent returned soldier, has sent a letter to Mr. Fraser, M.P., who is also* a City Councillor, stating that he had noticed that Mr. Fraser's name was omitted from the Council's address of welcome to the Prince, and he understood this was by Mr. Fraaer's own request. Mr. Fox animadverts on this and tells Mr. Fraser that, in former days, he would have challenged him to a duel, but as we are in modern times he has no alternative but to ask him to resign his seat in the House and he will contest it with him. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Fraser declines to accept Mr. Fox's challenge to resign his seat. He says he is solely responsible for execution to the National Labor Party.
