MEETING OF GENEEAL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Taranaki A. and P. Society was held on Saturday, there being present: Messrs. W. B. Grant (president, in the chair), A. T. Moore, T. Dickson, H. C. Sampson, W. Hall, J. H. Allen, A. Turnbull, J. A. Kurth, W. McKenzie, A. J. Luxton, N. W. Hill, A. E. Gudopp, A. P. Lister, G. VV. Browne, C Dobson, C. Hoskin, W. Morris, and S. Vickers. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. E. C. Stanley and A. E. Washer. After hearing the report of the subcommittee on the conditions of the grandstand at the showgrounds, it was decided to refer the matter to the chairman with power to take action immediately. It was decided to engage an orchestra to play at the evening sessions at the Winter Show. A suggestion was imide by the Dairy Factory Managers' Association that some arrangement should be made whereby the factory managers "could go through the dairy exhibits with the judges on the second morning of the show. This was agreed to, subject to the approval of the judges. It was decided to have a live weightguessing competition, the offer of Mr. McKenzie to give "the use of his pony for the purpose being accepted with thanks. The matter of arranging for a sheep for guessing competition was left to Mr. Lister. . It was left with the secretary to arrange for members' badges for the show.
