RETURNS FOR LAST MONTH. LARGE INCREASES SHOWN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 9, 5.5 p.m. London, May 9. Imports for April were valued at £167,000,000, compared with £112,0.00,000 in April last year. Exports were valued at £100,000,000, compared with £58,000,000. The increased imports were chiefly raw materials, notably raw cotton, whereas meat decreased over £7,000,000. Increased exports include over £40,000,000 for articles wholly or mainly manufactured; cotton yarn manufactures, £4,500,000; iron and steel manufactures, £4,500,000; Woollen worsted yarns, £3,250,000;-tor vehicles, including locomotives, ships, aircraft, over £2,000,000. Imports, for the four months total £697,000,000, an increase of £238,000,000; arid exports £401.000,000, an increase of £190,000,000, compared wkh 1919.—Imperial Service.
