Searches in the students' quarters in Cairo disclosed an extensive "Black Hand" organisation in the provinces. Many students have been arrested.

Farm laborers, striking in the Verona province (Italy) besieged the estate of Baron Montidi Brescia with a view to preventing the feeding of live stock. A similar siege took place oil the Marchese Dicanossa's estate at Villa Franca. Ten carabinieri and twenty peasants were wounded.

As a result of a dispute at Fiume betwoen General Rocco, commanding the Italian carabinieri, and D'Annunzio, General Rocco decided to quit the city. His force was attacked by D'Amiunzio's bravos on the border, and a general conflict took place, in which there were many casualties. Five carabinieri and four bravos are dead.
