DRAPER'S SHOP BURNEDBy Telegraph.—Press Association. Feilding, May 7. A fire last night in the drapery premises known as Cobbe's, owned by McGruers, destroyed the furnishing department and stocks, also Hobday's photographic studio. On the upstairs floor, Cobbe's damage was estimated at 1 about £3OOO and Hobday's at about £4OO- The insurances are not yet available. CHARGED WITH THEFT. Napier. May 7. At the Magistrate's Court, James George Traeey, Customs official, was charged with having stolen £I4S, the property of the Government, and was remanded till next Monday. Detective Butler pointed out that, though accused -at present was charged only with this amount, his total defalcation would amount to thousands.
