A patient at the mental hospital, Adolphus H. Morris, was killed by a fall believed to have occurred while he was attempting to escape through a window by the down pipe.

CHILD KILLED BY LOCOMOTIVE. Invercargill, May C. Mavis Green, four years of age, daughter of the railway porter at Edendale, Was run over by a locomotive. Death was instantaneous. The child had been ■sent on a message which necessitated its crossing the line.
