TE HENUI CHURCH.
CHRYSANTHEMUM DAY. A very successful sale of goods and produce and display of autumn flowers was held in Holy Trinity Schoolroom, Tc Henui, yesterday. The room was nicely decorated with ferns, bamboos, and flags, and presented an attractive appearance when the sale was opened by the Veil Archdeacon Evans, who complimented the workers on the display and hoped the effort to raise funds for the parish would meet with the success it deserved. The stalls were well stocked, a splendid} supply of excellent vegetables, fruits, and preserves having been received, the Bell Block portion of the parish contributing generously to this section. There was also a very good display of chrysanthemums the variety and quality of (he blooms being specially good. Messrs Duncan and Davics also made a display of autumn flowers and pot plants. There, was a very good attendance in the afternoon, and a good sale resulted. The committee are very grateful to those who assisted in any way, especially to Messrs. Grover, Clothier, and Kamsey for the 11=0 of motor cars for bringing gifts to the hall, etc. In the evening a very enjoyable entertainment was given in connection with the effort. Following are the names of the stallholders:—Produce, Mesdames Grover, Stevenson, and Clothier; flowers. Mrs. G. Xcnl, Misses Harding, Footc, and Whitcomljo: sweets. Miss Hcppell and staff of girls; afternoon tea. Mesdames Hardy, Chi vers. Hellaby and Black. Misses Lee. Clothier, Day, and Smail.
