MAGISTRATE'S COURT

YESTERDAY'S SITTING. Mr. T. A. !?. Bailey. S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth yesterday, when the following business was dealt with:— CIVIL BUSINESS. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following undefended cases:—Claude H. Weston (Mr. D. Hutehen) v. Warihi Mimene and Kura Rimene, £Bl ISs (Id (costs £6 14s); Rod Post Furnishing Coy. (Mr. A. A. Bennett) v. Bruce .foil' £ls 19s (costs £1 10s Gd.) A number of other civil eases which were called were adjourned by the Court until Monday next. BY-LAW CASES. For allowing' cattle to be at large on roads in the County of Taranaki, Fred. W. McGregor (Koni road) was fined 10s (costs 17s Cd), and Herbert James Sharrock (Main South road) was fined 20s (costs 17s Od). For committing breaches of the New Plymouth motor by-laws, Edward Jones was fined £2 (costs 7s), J. R. Archibald £1 (costs 7s), Richard Gibbing £5 (costs 7s), and Lilian Walker 10s (costs 7s).
