LOAN AND IMEKCANTILE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. (Stratford) report as follows : Tuesday last, 27th April, being a very wet day tho yarding at our Stratford sale was a small one. Sheep were slow of sale, but rattle sold at full market rates. We quote stock sold as under: Lambs £l, f.m ewes ISs 6d, weanor heifers and steers mixed £3 19s, empty cows £5 8s to £7, weaner pies 8s to lfis Gd. On Wednesday, 28th April, we held our Konuratahl sale, the weather was also verv moist and affected the yaTding, but owing to soveral clients who had sold their farms, yarding stock competition was keen, and wo disposed of all stock yarded the following prices being obtained: Lambs ins 7d to 19s 9d, 2-tooth to f fin. ewes, mixed, £1 is 3d. 2 and 4-tooth wethers 25s Sd. fat "cows £7 2s lid to £B, cow and calf £lO. line of (10 2%-year steers £7 15s to £7 16s, 20-month steers (good) £5 17s. Private Sales— The following prices were realised at private sales: Lambs 14s to £l. 2-tooth ewes 255, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 28s (Id to 30s Cd. 4-tooth wethers 27s to "2s (id, heifers, close to profit £l2 10s, 20-roonth steers £4 6s. dairy cows £25 to £26 ss, fat bullocks £lO. FARMERS' CO-OP. REPORT. At the Opunake yards on Monday, 26th. April thnro was a good entry and practically the whole yarding was sold. Quotations': Pat lambs 235. good store pigs £2 13s to £3, dairy heifers £lO to £l2 10s. bulls £6 to £9 7s 6d. fat cows £ll 2s 6d, forward ditto £9 3s to £9 7s 6d. lighter ditto £8 12s fid, stores £6 5s to £7 15s, boners £4 to £5, empty heifers £5 16s to £6 2s (Sd, in calf ditto £l3 ss, weaner heifers £2 to £2 7s 6d, ditto steers £1 2s to £1 15s. At Manala, on Tuesday, there was a good yarding. Tho weather was very rough and competition was not keen, but vendors were prepared to soil and the yards were cleared. Prices: Small store pigs £1 to £1 2s, good store ewes 21s fid, dairv cows £l4 to £l9 bulls £4 15s to £9 15s, "forward and fat cow £9 to £9 10s. store cows £6 Is to £S fls. honcrs £3 to £4 10s. weaner steers, good, £2 ss. weaner heifers, Jersey crass, £6. At Stratford yards on Tuesdav, we report it good entry. Oompetlton was dull, hut nearly all sold at the hammer. We quote: Forward and fat cows £9 7s (Id to £ll ss. store cows £7 ins to £9, light cows and boners At late rates, in calf heifers £l2 10s to £l3. weaner heifers to £3, weaner steers £1 5« to £2, empty ewes 21s fid, dalrv heifers Jerseys £l9 10s, 20-month steers £5 At Inglewood, owing to the very rough weather the yards were not filled. What did come forward was sold. Prices were not high. Good store ewes 22s 6d, lambs 14s 2d 3%-year steers £1 110s, 2%-year ditto £7 Rs! 2<l-month ditto £4 9s to £4 12s Cd. light cows £7 12s 6d. boners £4 12s, Jersey heirera In calf £l3 10s. weaner heifers £1 15s. weaner steers good £2, springing heifers £]» 10s to £l2 15s.
