Early treatment and confinement to bed and absolute rest provided the most potent factor in combating the disease. Amongst the preventive measure:- inoculation was the most valuable, and mitigated progress to a large extent. Amongst those inoculated three times the mortality at the hospital was just one half that of those who were nor. inoculated.
