Received May 2, 5.5 p.m. London, May 1, A Berlin message states the Ministry of Defence has made a statement regarding German war stores. Four hundred and seventy-eight and 430 light guns are at present in Koenigsberg. The Entente has been offered 12,000 light and 5(10 heavy guns, 3000 minethrowers, 20,000 machine guns, 377,000 rifles, 15,500,000 rounds of artillery ammunition, 38,000,000 cartridges, and all available aircraft, namely 400 aeroplanes. The strength of the army on April 5 was 11,500 officers and 220,000 men. The naval conditions have been fulfilled, and the Entente has not (complained in that Service. THE OLD SPIRIT. INFLUENCE IN DEFENCE SCHEME. Received May 2, ll p.m. Berlin, April 30. In response to the Berliner Tageblatt'S challenge, the Defence Minister admits that fifteen out of the thirty-six officials of the department served in the exKaiser's so-called military Cabinet. Tho Tageblatt admits they are not the moat influential personalities of the old regime, but they are still under the influence of outsiders, who know how to pull the strings.
