CRICKET.
ENGLISH CRICKETERS. TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Ajisn.—Copyright. London, Aptll 12. The papers aro displaying Iho keenest interest in the selection of the English cricket eleven for Australia. Critics Tegard as the selectors' '"-cutest problem the weakness of the bowline, which lias not yet recovered from the war. Warner, Barnes, Hitch, and Rhodes are unlikely to make tho trip. The Evening News thinks that tho certainties arc: Hobbs, Philip Mead, J W Hearne, Ceorge Gunn, Prank Woolley, and }. W. H. T. Douglas, as captain; and tho possibilities Include Wnddington, Hendren, Parkin, Sutcllffe, Holmes, D. J. Knight, and J. C. White. The paper Is pessimistic regarding the success of the tests, unless the coming season produces new stars. Another well-informed authority understands that A. W. Carr, the noted hitter, and Notts' skipper, Is likely to lead the team.
