DISASTER AT SEA.

A VESSEL DISAPPEARS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 28. The White Star liner Baltic, which has arrived at Liverpool, reports that when in mid-Atlantic during a gale s'.ie received a wireless summons from the steamer Wiliiam O'Brien reporting that the hatch covers had gone, and that she was making water rapidly. The Baltic steamed to her assistance. The wireless messages became undecipherable, except the word "sinking," which was repeated several times. Other vessels also searched the spot, but no trace was found of the vessel or her crew.—Aus-N.Z. Cable Assn.
