FIELD ROOT COMPETITIONS, Entries for the field root competitions, details of which appear in the • advertising columns of this issue, will close on Saturday next. May Ist. In former years it has been necessary to pay a nomination fee at the time of purchase of the seed, but this has now been done away with so that competitors have now to pay the entry fee only at the time of making the entry. Liberal cash prizes are offered for the .single competitions, and a suitably inscribed trophy is offered to the wLnaers of the district competition. Schedules, furnishing details and boundaries, etc., may be obtained from Messrs. Newton King (Inglewood), Gausted and Marlow (Waltara), and from the secretary of the society, P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth.
