ANGLO-FRENCH UNITY. NO DISAGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 20. Mr. Lloyd George as he was returning from the conference at San Remo received French journalists and emphasised that the settlement left 110 question of principle outstanding. He declared that he never discouraged the employment of military means in enforcing the Treaty, but the Germans should not be prevented from restoring order. Stressing the necessity of AngloFrench unity Mr. Lloyd George, maintained that there had been no disagreements, although there had been difficulties. He urged them not to magnify insects into rhinoceroses. The British and must make allowance for the diflerence of their temperamentsHe hoped in any future difficulty they would talk the matter over together and not fire at long range. TREATY TOPICS. San Remo, April 26. Representatives of the Allies have agreed to meet the German Chancellor at Spa on May 25. London, April 2d. A San Remo message states that Signer Nitti proposed to make Fiume a buffer State. M. Millerand and Mr. Lloyd George at present are not favorable to the scheme. It is reported that the Allies have decided to allow Germany an army of 160,000 men should the necessity for it be proved, further concessions to be dependent upon the Reichswehr's complete evacuation of the Ruhr district.—Aus.N.Z.
