FALL IN BULLER GORGE.
BEAUTY SPOT DESTROYED.' COMMUNICATION HELD UP.' By Telegram—Pma Association, ' Westport, Last Nigh*. A big land slide in tho Buller Gorge has apparently completely destroyed tiw *■ famous fern arch. There appear* to bo at least 2000 yards in the slip, including some W S blocks of conglomerate stone, and the work of removal will be difficult mid dangerous. A bridge was smashed by tho fall of earth and stone, and some four or flva telegraph poles were engulfed. It ia thought that light mail matter may be • got through to-morrow, but it will ha some time next week before the road is clear for traffic. In the meantime cars will run to either side of the slip, and passengers may takt> the risk of a climb over the debris. It would, however, appear to be unwise for lady passengers to attempt to coma through yet, and the passengers "that do come will require to trevel light.
