PRICE OF FLOUR.
RECENT CHANGE EXPLAINED. By Telegraph.-rress Association. Wellington, Last Night. home weeks ago there was published in the Gazette a notice regarding the price of flour w'.ieh was not easily intelligible It appeared that the f.o.b. price was to be ,-eifl 10s at southern ports, and that in other parts of the country the prio» was to be this rate of i'lfi Ms plus other charges incurred in bringing the flour to the place of the ultimate sale to the bread maker. But in this notice there was mention of a rate of .CIS per ton for flour for revtain places. This quote of £IS per ton is cancelled. The rate is now fixed at £lO 10s per ton, and in the case, of the ports distant fro:n the wheat ports of the South Island the rate is to be .-Clti 10s with the addition of the costs of bringing the flour to those places. A member of the Board of , Trade when asked for an explanation of the point, said that the first notice had been published in error, and tiiat the notice or this week's Gazette was merely a correction of the error previously niade.
