NEW MARKETS.
(To tho Editor) Sir—ln <tonsorvat.lon with Mr. .7. Ouin, chairman of the Taranaki Meat Company, we got on to the subject of new markets and the likelihood of opening up trade with the French. I put It to those interested, that shipments of potash from Franco might ho arranged, and hides, etc., purchased from us as a back cargo would follow. We want this manure quickly. There has been a great deal of political braying over the Nauru Island deal, hut now the election is over, the whole deal seems a little hit In the air. I hope some of our enterprising importers of manures will look Into this French business and see if anything can be done.—l am, etc. D. ,T. HUGHES,
