THE INFLUX OF CHINESE. By Telecrraph —Prsu Association, Auckland, Last Night. Another party of Chinese and Hindoos arrived in Auckland to-day by the Rlverina from Sydney. The Chinese numbered fifteen, including eight women. There were two Hindoos, and they both pasced the reading test. . . . This makes 272 Chinese who have landed,in Auckland since the beginning of the year. The number of Hindoos who hav* .arrived since .January Ist totals 96. Tlie Hindoo doctor, Munilal, who was detained on the Atua, was granted permission to land with hiis wife and child tovday.
New Zealand's revenue went up by v about another £2(100 on Tuesday, when a : score Of Chinese, mostly young men, lined up at the Wellington* Customs office. All were from Sydney, It is reckoned that the Oriental population of the Dominion has been increased to the number of about fifty by the last three steamers from Sydney. j
